Chungui Wang, Flute Player

Mr. Chungui Wang is a Chinese national first-class musician and a professor of bamboo flute at the Royal Academy of Music of Canada. He graduated from China Jilin University of Arts with a bachelor’s degree. His major was the flute and he was under the tutelage of Professor Xiping Wang from Jilin University of Arts and Professor Han Liu from the China Conservatory of Music. He was subjected to strict, good and systematic professional training to become a professional flute player. After graduation, he was admitted to the Jilin Provincial Song and Dance Theater, where he played solo. He was also a member and chief flute of the folk band. In 1992, he was fortunate to receive the careful guidance of the flute master Songting Zhao. Mr. Wang has also worked with many books in China.

LHe performed on the same stage as famous musicians and accompanied the group to Japan, Finland, Croatia, South Korea, Hungary, Estonia, Latvis and other countries to visit and perform. His playing style is elegant, the andante is delicate, the music style is smooth, the allegro is passionate and unrestrained, and his skill is outstanding. After coming to Canada, he was not only active in Toronto; he was on many musical stages. He was invited to Ottawa, Montreal, London, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Colorado, USA. He became a well-known Chinese flute player in the Chinese community and in mainstream society, and was hired in Canada for his outstanding artistic talent as the professor of folk music at the Royal College of Art. At the same time, he also studied under the flute player, composer Mizi Tan to strengthen his flute playing skills. 

 

Mr. Chunjie not only has many years of experience in stage performances, but also has long-term solid teaching experience. Many of the students he trained and guided have been admitted to the China Central Conservatory of Music and other higher music institutions, and many have won awards in various music competitions. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Master Streaming media has repeatedly reported his artistic achievements. At the end of 2009, Mr. Wang Chunjie was invited back to China to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. At the “Chinese National Music Tour Hundred Concert Series-Jilin Province National Orchestra Folk Music Special” performance, he was a member of the Greater Toronto Area. He was also one of the few artists who performed at the National Grand Theater of China. In June 2010, Wang Chunjie successfully held a solo concert in Toronto. In October 2011, his performance of “Qin Chuan Express” at the “Mizi Tan Works Concert” was highly appreciated by experts and colleagues. In May 2015, he and Chinese bamboo flute master Du Rusong successfully held a solo concert of “Chinese Flute Rhyme” in Toronto. He also performed at a concert in July of the same year in Taiwan. The “Dream Lotus” Symphony Orchestra successfully performed the “Moonlight” concert at Lincoln Center in New York. He participated as a Chinese artists since 2006. Mr. Wang performed as a soloist in the Asian Culture Month and New Year’s Concert held by GEBIS Toronto.
